NPP will stick to the Rule of Law; we’ll not give NDC the showdown they crave-Ekow Assafuahh

The Member of Parliament for Old Tafo in the Ashanti Region, Lawyer Ekow Vincent Assafuah, has made it clear that the NPP caucus in Parliament won’t engage in a showdown with the NDC. According to him, leaked WhatsApp messages from the NDC’s platform suggest they’re anticipating a confrontation, but the NPP will stick to the Rule of Law and avoid using force to assert their position.

The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development emphasizes that the majority can only be determined through polls, not behind closed doors. He also points out that the Supreme Court has stayed the speaker’s ruling, and it’s essential to respect the laws of the land.

Speaking on TV3’s morning show said “We are not going to give any showdown. We will not give them what they expect,”

This development follows reports of heightened tensions in Parliament, with some MPs calling for restraint and peace amid the tensions.
