Mahama Files Another Motion Demanding Original Collation Forms

Lawyers of the former President John Mahama have filed another motion at the Apex court demanding the Electoral Commission to provide them with original copies of the presidential collation results of the various constituencies among others.

Today in court, a seven-member panel of the Supreme Court presided over by Justice Anin Yeboah refused a request by lawyers of former President Mahama, the petitioner in the 2020 Presidential election case, to allow the EC to respond to some 12 questions they consider relevant to the matter.

The court in its ruling on Tuesday said the interrogatories raised were discretionary and therefore the Supreme Court does not see it as relevant to the petition before it.

Lawyers of former President John Dramani Mahama were seeking leave of the Supreme Court to allow the electoral commission respond to some 12 interrogatories (questions) to expedite the hearing of the election petition.

But the court refused the request.
