Four children have been reportedly burnt to death after fire gutted a four-bedroom house they were occupying at Amasaman in the Greater Accra region.
According to an eyewitness Richmond, the four children aged Sixteen, Twelve, Eight and Six were locked in their burglarproof room by their mother while they were sleep.
The incident happened while their mother was away for church service with their younger sibling.
Richmond who is also a tenant in the house narrating the incident to Kwame Nkrumah Tikessie on Accra based OK FM said they heard the children screaming for help at around 12am today (Wednesday, October 2020) but could not find one as the fire was at its peak and no one could enter to help them. They then quickly contacted the Ghana fire service, but unfortunately the children were found death as at the time the fire was quenched by the Ghana fire service.
Even though the cause of fire is still unknown, Richmond believes leakage of gas might have be the cause.
The children, aged between six and 16 years, are said to have been burnt beyond recognition.
