During the visit, both patients and staff were treated to a hot birthday meal, and the hospital received donations of food and non-food items. In addition, school bags containing exercise books, pencils, and crayons were handed over to children at the hospital.

In expressing his appreciation, Mahama congratulated the Medical Director, Dr. Kennedy T. C. Brightson, and his team for maintaining the facility’s professionalism and high standards of patient care nearly eight years after its inauguration.

Mahama shared his joy at returning to his “favourite hospital environment” to celebrate his 65th birthday, emphasizing that the Shai Osudoko District Hospital was the first of six district hospitals completed under his government’s initiative. This initiative aimed to establish first-class health facilities in every district, bringing quality healthcare closer to Ghanaians.
