Otokunor’s Driver Arrested By BNI In Connection With Recent Market Fires

The Driver of NDC Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otukunor has been picked by National Investigations Bureau (NIB) formerly Bereau National Investigative in connection with market fires.

Eric Adoglah was picked up by men believed to be from the NIB Monday dawn without any charge.

It is unclear what prompted the arrest but many believe the recent spate of market fires may be deliberately masterminded by elements within the opposition party.

A total of 5 market fires has occurred in Ghana in December alone. So far, the cause of the fire is unknown.

But Lawyers for the driver say the NIB has refused them access and information on the whereabouts 0f the driver.

Lawyer Adawudo speaking to TV3’s Komla Klutse said even though they don’t know the offence for which his client has been picked up, his source of information has it that the BNI is torturing his client to admit to things he ought not to concerning the election as his client’s boss has been vocal when it comes this year’s elections.

 

E/R: Man, 66 Found Dead In Guest House After Checking In With a 25 Year Old Lady(Photos)

Man believed to be 66-years-old has been found dead in a guest house in Koforidua hours after checking in with a 25-year-old lady.

According to police report, On Sunday December 20th, 2020, one Charles Baafi of H/No OE/23B at Koforidua called their station and reported that, a man of about 66 years old who gave his name as William Agyei at his guest house, thus Adom Guest house with a lady of about 25 years onboard a red Toyota Corolla with registration number, ER 1614-17 and lodged at room 40 of the guest house located at Effiduase off Akwadum road on Saturday, December 19th, 2020.

About 12noon on Sunday when his receptionist by name Eunice Amoah wanted to clean the room allocated to them, she knocked severally but there was no response, she opened the door only to find out that, the man was lying lifeless on the bed with the lady nowhere to be found.

Upon receipt of the information, police proceeded to the scene and on inspection, several medicines, including the following, One vigrx for men container with one capsules, Deep heat spray, unirob polar ice, bendroflumeethiazide tablets, and several other used tablets were seen in a bag within the guest room.

Also, a red bag containing the personal clothes of the deceased including some regalias and a black hand bag containing cash the sum of Gh¢2000,00 were also found. External inspection of the body was conducted but no marks of violence was seen except foaming on the mouth.

The body has since been moved to St Joseph’s Hospital Morgue for preservation awaiting autopsy. Meanwhile, the vehicle has been taken to the station for safe keeping, whilst frantic effort is being made to trace the identity of the said young lady and the deceased family to assist investigations.

The red bag with the deceased clothes and regalias as well as the medicines and the money have been taken to the station for further action.

Ghana won’t be left behind in having access to covid-19 vaccine-Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has given the assurance that Ghana will not be left behind in having access to the Covid-19 vaccines approved by Food and Drugs Administration of the United States of America and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency of the United Kingdom.

Speaking to Ghanaians on measures taken to combat Covid-19, President Akufo-Addo said the recent news of emergency approvals of COVID vaccines by the Food and Drugs Administration of the United States of America, and the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency of the United Kingdom, provide considerable optimism and hope for the world in our battle to defeat the pandemic.

“Government will ensure that the COVID-19 vaccines to be deployed in the country are effective and are safe”.

Adding that Government have put together a team of experts, from the relevant institutions and agencies, who are working assiduously towards the procurement and deployment of the vaccines in Ghana. The briefings held by the Ministry of Information will keep the nation updated on this matter.

Organizers of such events, public or private, should ensure the presence of ‘Veronica’ buckets, soap and sanitizers, and must insist that patrons use them as frequently as possible.

 

I May Not Be Satisfied With The Final Results But…John Dumelo speaks on his defeat

The National Democratic Congress’ immediate past parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Dumelo has conceded defeat in the just ended December 7, 2020 elections.

In a Facebook post, John who had petitioned the Electoral Commission of Ghana to recount the total votes cast assured his constituents of coming back stronger.

“I may not be satisfied with the final results or the irregularities that occurred, but before everything else I am Ghanaian and I will always put the people first“Ut omnes onum sint”

He recounted how he always fought back, starting from a contest he had during his school days.

The Actor and Politician wrote;

In 2004, I stood for KNUST Queens hall Secretary, I lost. In 2005 I stood for KNUST Organizing Secretary, Civil Engineering Students Association, I won.

In 2019 I stood for the NDC parliamentary primaries, I won. On the 7th of December 2020 I stood for MP at Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, I lost.

Truth is, every time I lose, I come back stronger because I don’t see it as a loss, I see it as a journey to perfection. It is only when you are down that you appreciate what it takes to get back up.

So I want to thank the over 37,000 people who voted for me in Ayawaso West Wuogon. From the bottom of my heart, I really appreciate you all. To those that didn’t vote for me, I hope that in the future I can work and prove to you that I’m worthy of your vote.

To Lydia, many said it was impossible for me to even dream of winning but the numbers I pulled in and you winning by a very small margin, especially in such a stronghold of the NPP makes me extremely proud of the whole campaign .

Video: NDC supporters burn car tyres as protest against outcome of 2020 Elections continue in Kumasi

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) continues its nationwide protests against  outcome of the 2020 elections in the Ashanti Region.

Party executives, supporters and sympathizers this morning took over the streets of Kumasi. Clad in black and red attire, the protesters were seen chanting “No Mahama No Peace”

Military personnel together with police personnel are seen in uniforms helping to calm situation down in the video below:

 

Fake Lawyer representing Western Togoland suspects arrested

The lawyer representing suspects in the Western Togoland secession case has been arrested after he was found out to be fake.

According to the Police, Dennis Seyram Benson who parades himself as a lawyer has been representing the suspects since the inception of the case.

The Police in a statement said, the demeanor of Mr Seyram Benson in court raised suspicion leading to a background check which revealed that he was a fake lawyer.

The 42-year-old man has since been arrested and is currently helping the Police with investigations.

Meanwhile, the Circuit Court in Accra presided over by Mr Emmanuel Marvin Essandoh has granted bail in a combined sum of GHc2.5 millions to 25 of the accused persons who have been charged in the western Togoland case.

The 25 accused persons have each been granted bail in the sum of GHc100,000 with two sureties each.

 

A/R: Two robbers nabbed, one lynched to dead at Pankrono (Watch Video)

Two suspected robbers have been lynched, one death, other injured by an angry residents at pankrono-Estate in the Ashanti region.

The Victim, Vera narrating her story said she was on her way to the market with her daughter when they realized there is a motor bicycle following them. She then quickly threw her bag in the bush.

The robbers upon seeing that rushed on her daughter to attack her, she couldn’t watch her daughter harmed hence went in to rescue her but the robbers started stabbing her from her neck, hand and other parts of her body.

According to her, the next place she found herself was in the hospital. When ask how much was in the bag, she responded GHC100, adding that she does not keep her business money on her as there are robbers in her area.

The robber who survived the mob attack is currently in the bosom of the Police. The police said they are preparing him for court.

NDC wins Sene West Parliamentary seat

The Electoral Commission (EC) has declared National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, Ampofo Twumasi the winner of the Parliamentary elections held in the Sene West Constituency.

Mr Twumasi was declared winner after he polled 13,116 votes as against the NPP’s 13,100 in the final round of counting of votes in the constituency.

This comes after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate, Joseph Markay Kuma, sought an injunction against the election results over claims of irregularities with the electoral process although collation of results had not taken place.

But in a court ruling on Thursday morning, the Presiding Judge, His Lordship Justice Frederick Nawura, struck out the NPP’s case and directed that the Electoral Commission be allowed to do its work.

The NPP gained 148 votes while the NDC gained 275 votes. The votes were added to the already counted ballot to produce a winner in the election.

Decomposed body of a Pregnant woman found in bush near Kumasi Parks and Gardens in the Nhyiaeso constituency of the Ashanti Region.

The unfortunate incident came to light on Thursday morning when a man went to bush to respond to nature’s call saw the body.

The deceased is yet to be identified due to the condition of her body.

An eyewitness speaking in an interview with Pure FM’s Osei Kwadwo said “we suspect foul play and we believe she was murdered”

According to him, the police has been at the scene but left the body unattended to, as to why? he could not figure out.

 

Man jobless for 3 years dies at Ashaiman after securing a job

A 30-year-old Andrew Adomako-Jassie aka Abodam has reportedly died just a day after he gained employment with the Ghana Immigration Service.

Reports indicate that the deceased, had been hungry for job for the past three years after graduating from the university only to die after securing one.

Abodam passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, after complaining of severe headache which was the very day he was expected to start work.

His friend, identified as Harden, took to Twitter to share the sad story.
