How Crystal Palace Stoppage time equalizer ruined Manchester United’s winning streak

To stop Manchester United’s run of victories and help Crystal Palace salvage a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park, Michael Olise scored an incredible free kick in the dying moments.

His left-footed shot curled over the wall and slammed into the crossbar from underneath.

Clear-cut opportunities were few and distant in an otherwise evenly matched Premier League game, with each team missing a few half-chances in the first half.

Prior to United’s debutant Wout Weghorst heading onto the roof of the net, Luke Shaw saw his attempt veer across the goal face. Jean-Phillipe Mateta’s strike was headed for the top corner and Palace thought they had scored, but David De Gea made a sensational stop to save a goal.

A few minutes later, United seized the lead when Bruno Fernandes scored from close range after Christian Eriksen had been set up on the left side. In order to give United a lead at the break, the Portuguese midfielder composed himself before firing a shot that found the back of the net.

Eberechi Eze footed a shot wide and high in the rather uninteresting second half, while Marcus Rashford missed a long-range attempt.

Scott McTominay was brought down in the box, but VAR disallowed a penalty for the Red Devils. Casemiro then received his fifth yellow of the year, which will keep him out of Sunday’s game at Arsenal.

In the closing seconds, Olise netted a beautiful free kick to give Palace a point, making the situation even worse for United.

Kwasi Appiah explains why he relieved Asamoah Gyan of his captaincy of the Black Stars.

Asamoah Gyan’s removal as captain of the Black Stars was decided upon, according to former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.

Gyan’s captaincy was taken away from Appiah prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, with Andre Ayew assuming control.

Despite Gyan’s disapproval of the selection, he was made the team’s general captain. This caused the captain to consider retiring, but the striker changed his mind following a presidential intervention.

Gyan’s captaincy was taken away from Appiah prior to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, with Andre Ayew assuming control.

“I see captaincy as when you are on the pitch you represent the coach and take command of all the players. The decision that I took, I sat and thought about it and at that time nobody loved Asamoah Gyan more than me [sic],”

“During my tenure, he helped me along the way he was the one striking. When we were going to the Cup of Nations Cup in South Africa, John Mensah was the captain.

“That time, John wasn’t in Ghana so I called him and told him, I have moved you to the General Captain [and] I am giving the captaincy to Asamoah Gyan. I took that decision when I took the decision then I informed the authorities that this is the decision I have taken “ he told Dan Kweku Yeboah TV

What exactly is a bomb cyclone

Experts say a ‘bomb cyclone’ is not a hurricane despite its appearance.

Atmospheric river and bomb cyclone continue to drench California on Thursday, dumping several inches of rain on a region that has struggled to recover from an onslaught of winter storms and increasing the risk of flooding, mudslides, and power outages across a large portion of the state. The bomb cyclone has killed an infant and causing Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency Wednesday.

You may question what a bomb cyclone is?

A “bomb cyclone” is also known as a “explosive cyclogenesis,” a “weather bomb,” a “explosive development,” and the less dangerous term “bombogenesis.”

The term most frequently used is now “bomb cyclone.”

Bomb cyclones are storms, according to experts, that develop in winter when a midlatitude cyclone experiences “rapid intensification” at speeds of at least 24 millibars over a 24-hour period.

According to Daniel Swain, a climate scientist at UCLA, the conditions for this rapid intensification frequently come from the collision of a cold and warm air mass over the Pacific.

“This is a textbook mid-latitude cyclone, with well-defined warm and cold fronts, and it’s even developing an eye-like feature near its center,” Swain says. “A ‘bomb cyclone’ refers directly to the rate of strengthening, not necessarily to its absolute strength. It has been found that the presence of nearby atmospheric rivers can actually enhance the rate of strengthening of low-pressure systems, so that is likely part of what’s going on here.”

What then is atmospheric river.

The impact on California will be significant, according to Swain, even though it is anticipated that the storm’s eye will remain far offshore in the Pacific.

“A very strong cold front associated with the storm will indeed make landfall in California, and this is the event that will bring widespread strong/damaging winds as well as heavy precipitation that will likely lead to flooding and mudslides, especially in northern California, but also as far south as about Los Angeles.”

Although both are low-pressure systems that can bring high winds and heavy rainfall, Swain says a bomb cyclone is not a hurricane.

“Hurricanes derive their energy from warm tropical oceans whereas ‘mid-latitude cyclones’ (like the present one) derive their energy from horizontal temperature differences in the atmosphere.”

The Midwest had extreme cold and blizzard conditions, while the East Coast experienced rainy conditions and heavy winds. Late last month, a severe winter storm intensified into a bomb cyclone.

But that bomb cyclone was unusual. According to Alex Lamers, a meteorologist who coordinates warnings for the National Weather Service, conditions for bombogenesis are often better along the coast rather than as far inland as the Midwest.

Bomb Cyclone kills infant in California

In what some forecasters believe will turn out to be one of the most significant storms to hit the state in years, an atmospheric river and bomb cyclone continue to drench California on Thursday, dumping several inches of rain on a region that has struggled to recover from an onslaught of winter storms and increasing the risk of flooding, mudslides, and power outages across a large portion of the state.

At least one death in the San Francisco Bay Area has been attributed to the storm. According to KTVU FOX 2, a newborn was found dead inside a house in the rural Sonoma County town of Occidental on Wednesday after it was struck by a falling redwood tree. There have been no additional informational releases.

The office of California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a state of emergency on Wednesday and stated that their storm response offices are operating at the highest degree of emergency.

The Sacramento Fire Department offered water rescue teams before the rain began to seriously fall

“California just hasn’t been used to this for probably the last 20 to 30 years,” said fire captain Keith Wade. “We’re moving through; the big thing we’re doing with our equipment that we’re asking to come in, we have a swift water team that’s prepositioned here in the city of Sacramento.”
