Bukom Banku remanded for stabbing man

Accra Circuit Court has remanded former Light Heavyweight champion Braimah Issah Kamoko, also known as Bukom Banku, for allegedly stabbing a man.

The prosecution claims that on Friday, November 25, at around 5:30 p.m., Bukom Banku and a few friends attacked some other people in Bukom.

Ishmael Neequaye, the complaint, was awakened from his sleep by noises in the neighborhood. Consequently, he decided to deal with the situation by himself.

According to the prosecution, Bukom Banku shattered a bottle and gave it to his son Mustapha to hurt Ishmael when he saw the complainant.

The complainant was wounded in the abdomen and quickly sent to the Korle Teaching Hospital for treatment after Mustapha complied.

Until they received a criminal summons, attempts to arrest the boxer and his son were unsuccessful.

3news reported that the two pleaded not guilty but were denied bail by presiding judge Justice Adelaide Abui Keddey.

They were remanded with orders to appear again on Monday, December 19.

Prosper Quaye, a 32-year-old third suspect, is missing. He’s said to have used a stone to destroy a 32-inch television during the confrontation.
