Man city conquers Real Madrid to Reach UCL Final
Manchester City have successfully vanquished the reigning Champions of Europe, Real Madrid, to secure a spot in the Final of the UEFA Champions League.
A four-nil score line was just enough to give “the Sky Blues” the ticket to face Italy’s Inter Milan for the Final on Saturday, 10th June, 2023 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.
An assist from Kevin De Bruyne got Bernardo Silva to find the back of the net, 23 minutes into the game.
Bernardo Silva hit a brace, just 14 minutes away from his first goal after making the most of a rebound from the Madrid defense.
Kevin De Bruyne’s magnificent cross got Militao to cause an own goal 31 minutes into the second half; and this got the stadium literally bouncing with joy from the home side fans.
The Etihad Stadium was filled with ecstacy when the fourth goal was registered by the Argentine forward, Alvarez, in the 38th second of stoppage time; the assist from Foden.
This feat, by the England’s Champions, will be their second UCL final under Pep Guardiola; and they’re looking forward to making this count after they suffered a one-nil defeat to the Londoners, Chelsea in 2021.
But the question still remains; will Pep’s Boys finally prove that the “African curse” has been broken as claimed by Yaya Toure’s former agent, Dimitri Seluk?
