Sixteen persons wanted for violent disturbances at the NDC elections
In connection with the violent incidents during the National Youth and Women’s Congress of the NDC held at Cape Coast in the Central Region on December 10, 2022, police have so far declared sixteen people wanted.
Three people were hurt and property was damaged during a violent battle between two rival factions at the Congress that broke up proceedings. The conflict involved the use of chairs, clubs, blocks, sticks, and other objects.
The police’s intervention brought the situation under control, allowing the processes to go through to their conclusion without further incident.
16 suspects have so far been named as some of the individuals participating in the violence and have been issued a wanted status following an initial analysis of Police-specific camera footages of the incident.
Anyone in the public with reliable information that will help the police identify or apprehend one of the suspects will be eligible for a GHC10,000.00 reward.
According to the police, an investigation is still being conducted to find and arrest any further violent offenders so they can face penalties.
