Akufo-Addo Has Performed Better As Against Mahama In First Term-IMANI

The IMANI Centre for Policy and Education hosted an event in Accra assessed the New Patriotic Party’s manifesto as outlined in 2016 in their bid to win elections

The political think-tank juxtaposed the promises of the NPP government made in the run-up to the last elections as against their realization at a time when the country is gearing up for another general election in December

According to the political think-tank, the NPP government led by President Akuffo Addo in 2016, made 510 promises which they have fulfilled about 56.77% of the promises made.

The Researcher of IMANI, Dennis Asare indicated NDC on the other hand made 540 promises in the 2012 manifesto in which in the 2016 assessment of their manifesto, fulfilled 54% which makes NPP’s performance better than that of NDC

He indicated that, the NPP government has performed well in the areas of Social services and human capital Investment, healthcare projects in terms of new technology in the healthcare system, as well as in the economic, foreign affairs and security sectors

Touching on areas the government performed abysmally, he indicated that local government, corruption and public accountability sectors did not see any good performance by the government.

He therefore advised all political parties to take into consideration the state of the economy and other factors before making vague promises in their manifesto
