Gov’t loves divorce letters to Love Letters-Mortuary Workers

The general secretary of the Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana, Richard Kofi Jordan has said the government of Ghana loves to be written a divorce letter than a love letter.

Mr. Jordan explains that the government understands strike and demonstration more than a peaceful talk. Citing an example, he in this period of coronavirus pandemic, they were cut off from the frontline workers benefits meanwhile they are the most affected people among the health workers.

Woefully, Mr. Jordan said government least respect their job and looks down on them.

The association in a statement said its members will go on strike from October 1st if their condition of service does not improve

Members of the Association of Ghana have always expressed concern about their safety in their line of work.

The workers say they even lack basic protective gear and tools which open them up to a lot of health risks.

But explaining their news release to Lawyer T. K on Adekyensoroma, the association secretary said the ministry of employment has written a love letter to them stating the need to sit down for a “jorjor”

Adding that if the ministry fails to provide their needs by the said date, they will go on strike.
