President Akufo-Addo has announced the reopening of schools at various levels of education.

Kindergarten, primary and Junior Highs school (JHS) pupils in both private and government schools will resume school on 15 January 2021 President Nana Akufo-Addo has announced.

This was announced during his 21st Coronavirus update on Sunday 3^rd January, 2020.

It comes after schools were closed down last year March as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.

President Akufo-Addo said continuing Senior High School (SHS) students will go back to school on January 18, 2021.

However, first year SHS students are expected to begin school on March 10, 2021.

Tertiary students will also return to lecture halls from Saturday, Janurary 9, 2021.

“So, from 15th January, our children in kindergarten, primary and Junior High, in both private and public schools, will be back in school. All SHS 1 students will start classes from 10th March, with all students embarking on a single-track academic calendar. Their seniors in SHS 2 and SHS 3 will, however, return to school from 18th January. Students in universities and other tertiary institutions are to be in school from Saturday, 9th January. ”

“Schools and institutions with their own hospitals and clinics will be equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment and have isolation centres to deal with any positive cases. All other schools and institutions without their own clinics and hospitals have been mapped to health facilities,” President Akufo-Addo announced.

The Cape Coast High Court has placed injunction on the intended Effutu constituency NDC Demonstration.

The party in the Constituency had written to the police seeking to protest the results of the general election conducted last year.

But the Ghana Police Service had initially applied to the court for an Ex Parte injunction.

A statement by the high court said “This is to notify the general public that the Cape Coast High Court has placed an injunction on the much anticipated Effutu Constituency demonstration against the Electoral Commission of Ghana”.

The Effutu constituency, led by its 2020 parliamentary candidate, James Kofi Annan, and the constituency executives, had planned a massive demonstration against the Jean Mensa-led Electoral Commission, in solidarity with their flag bearer, H. E. John Dramani Mahama, and also against what they call “the Effutu ECOWAS Register “ in the Effutu constituency.

They believe the Effutu constituency voters register is hugely over-bloated with voters imported from the neighbouring constituencies, and that the true winners of the 2020 parliamentary and presidential elections are James Kofi Annan and John Dramani Mahama respectfully, but for the Effutu ECOWAS register, and Jean Mensa’s lack of transparency in the declaration of the presidential results.

The intended demonstration was scheduled in Winneba for the coming Tuesday, January 5, 2021.

A driver to musician Stonebowy and four of his bodyguards are reported to be in the hands of the police.

A report by Kumasi based Nhyira FM has it that the four and the driver are said to have been arrested for assaulting another driver in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.

“The Abuakwa divisional police command in Ashanti region has arrested four bodyguards and a driver of Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, for assaulting another driver.

The dancehall artiste is said to have been returning from Bibiani in two black Toyota Land Cruisers with registration GT-5255-19 and GS-6255-19.

In an attempt to overtake on the Bibiani-Abuakwa stretch, a 207 Benz bus crashed into one of the cars.

According to an eyewitness, the bodyguards and driver of the musician allegedly pulled the 207 Benz driver out of the vehicle and started assaulting him physically.

An eyewitness who tried intervening also received his share of the assault.

The bodyguards are in police custody as investigations continue.”

Ghanaian Musician Patapaa has finally tied the knot with his German girlfriend, Neshishan.

The ‘One corner’ hitmaker married his German girlfriend in a beautiful traditional ceremony which took place at Agona Swedru in the Central region.

A lady has popped on Social media, claiming to have dated Africa’s billionaire, Dangote but their relationship has ended in tears breaking her heart into 1000 pieces.

Bea Lewis, an African-American who lives in Atlanta shared a photo of herself and Dangote that suggests he once had some intimate relationship with him.

The 33 year old lady revealing this on Instagram said even though her heart is broken, she learnt that nothing last forever, claiming her relationship with Dangote was a profitable one.

“I learned more from him than any person I’ve ever met. Communicating with a billionaire daily makes you see the world different than your humble beginnings in liberty city.
I became more organized and finally am able to step away from the daily kitchen operations”

The National Democratic Congress has filed a petition at the Supreme Court to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary polls.

The party after filing the petition in a statement said: “The Petition was filed pursuant to the party‘s audit of the 2020 Presidential results and extensive consultations with the National Executive Committee and Council of Elders of the party.

“The Petition details serious violations of the 1992 Constitution by the Electoral Commission and its Chairperson and Returning Officer for the Presidential Election, Mrs. Jean Adukwei Mensa in the conduct of their constitutional and legal responsibilities. It seeks among others, a declaration from the Supreme Court to the effect that, the purported declaration of the results of the 2020 Presidential Election on the 9th day of December 2020 is unconstitutional, null and void and of no effect whatsoever”.
