Fomena MP gives condition to meet NPP on rejoin proposal
The camp of the elected member of parliament for Fomena has given the condition of which might reenergize their candidate to rejoin the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According the team, they are ready to meet the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on proposals to rejoin its fold on some conditions.
The then Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Andrews Amoako Asiamah was suspended by the NPP after he decided to contest this year’s election as an Independent candidate.
Subsequently, he was removed from his seat in Parliament because he has forfeited his New Patriotic Party Membership.
President Akufo-Addo on his various campaign trail said he could not work with him for gross disrespect and indiscipline.
But Lawyer Andrew Asiamah stood his grounds and principles regardless and contested for the seat and won.
Just after the general elections, the general secretary of the NPP, John Boadu, has given a nod for Mr Asiamah to apply for a rejoin after he was dismissed from the party.
Andrews Amoako Asiamah’s campaign team, however, says due to the party’s painful rejection, they will wait for the NPP to approach them first before taking any decision.
Speaking to kumasi based Nhyira FM, the Special Aid to Mr Amoako Asiamah, Seth Oduro, said any decision that will be taken will be in consultation with the Liberation Movement that supported him to victory.
As it stands now, Mr Asiamah’s help is highly required as he stands as a tie-breaker for the majority seat in parliament.
